The story

Why I started Primal Ember

Youri at sunset on the coast

There was a time when I mostly lived up to other people's expectations. I wanted to belong, adapted myself and paid less and less attention to what I needed. Unhealthy habits became normal. Somewhere I knew something had to change, but for a long time I didn't know where to start.

In the end, that change started small. Making my bed. Going outside more often. Eating and moving more consciously. Looking more honestly at my choices and learning to set my boundaries.

Along the way I noticed how much those daily actions could mean. I gained more confidence in myself, because more and more often I did what I had set out to do. I began to understand better what mattered to me and learned to make room for it.

That process is still going on. I doubt too, make mistakes and sometimes fall back into old patterns. What has changed is that I am getting better at picking myself up again.

That experience first led to Primal Forged, a platform for men around health, habits and personal growth. While building it, the idea for Primal Ember grew too: a place of its own for women who want to work on themselves consciously.

The belief behind both is the same: small, conscious choices can mean a lot for how you live and how you feel. For Ember I deliberately chose an approach of its own, with attention to the needs, experiences and life stages of women.

My own experience is the reason I do this. I want to involve women themselves in developing Ember. During the beta I want to explore together with female users what works, what is missing and what can be better. Their experiences help me develop Ember further.

With Ember I want to help you translate what matters to you into your daily life. By setting goals that suit you, gaining insight into your habits and discovering which changes support you. That can be about movement, food and sleep, but also about setting boundaries, taking rest and making room for yourself.

Sometimes a challenge moves you forward. At other moments you need recovery, or a goal needs adjusting. That too is part of learning what works for you.

Maybe you already know where you want to go. Maybe you only feel that you want to give yourself more attention. Both are a beginning.

You don't have to change your whole life today. You can start with one choice that means something to you. A habit that helps you. A boundary you speak up for. A moment you make free for yourself.

From there you build on, in a way that fits your life.

Primal Ember — Awaken your inner fire.
